Staying Fit During Pregnancy

Walking is the best exercise for pregnant women. This is true even if you didn't walk much before. Special exercise classes for pregnant women are also good. Hospitals as well as community centers offer these classes. Ask your doctor where you can find them. 

Do not exercise in very cold or hot weather. Be Sure to drink plenty of water and don't let yourself become too hot. Start off slowly for the first 5 to 10 minutes. Then you can go a little faster.

Your doctor may want you to stop exercising when your due date gets closer. And at any time during your be sure to stop exercising right away if you feel pain, have cramps in your uterus, feel blood or fluid coming from your vagina, get dizzy, or have trouble breathing. If the problem does not go away call your doctor.
