Hemorrhage

Hemorrhaging refers to the extensive bleeding of 17 ounces or more within the first 24 hours after childbirth. It is termed postpartum hemorrhage.

What causes a woman to hemorrhage?

  • Left over Placenta tissue
  • Clotting or Coagulation Problems
  • A large or bleeding episiotomy
  • A uterus that will not contract
  • Tearing of the vagina or cervix during childbirth
  • A tear or rupture in the uterus (Placenta Abruptio)
  • Placenta Previa

This calculator predicts ovulation dates based on the date of your last period and the length of your menstrual cycle. It provides approximate dates only. Having intercourse during the few days before ovulation will give you the best chance of becoming pregnant. Since sperm can survive for several days, keep in mind that these are not the only days to become pregnant.

Remember: If your periods are irregular, this calculator is not a good way to predict your ovulation dates. Speak to your doctor about other ways to help you identify when you can conceive.
